The following map shows the proposed E.On wind farm at Billingborough & Horbling.
It gives approximate distances from proposed turbines to homes and schools. Exact distances are not possible because E.On can change the location of the towers after planning approval has been given. So the distances could be even closer than shown.
Evidence suggests that, for health reasons, wind turbines should be no closer than 2km. As can be seen the nearest proposed E.On turbine is 500m!
It does not show the location of any new electricity pylons needed to transmit power from the sites as the developer does not need to disclose these in the application.
The Billingborough & Horbling proposal is for a 51 megawatt wind farm. This would be large enough to bypass local planning legislation and be sent straight to CENTRAL government for approval. There would be minimal local consultation.
